Mental health has played a major role in my personal life through different experiences with my own family. This allowed me to grow in passion to be able to help others in their mental health journey. I have worked in behavioral health since 2015 here at Genesis. I started off working front desk and from there grew into a mental health field in TMS. I have been the TMS coordinator at Genesis for 4 years and truly believe the effectiveness of the treatments to get patients out of their struggles of depression motivated me to go back to school to pursue my masters in mental health counseling. I completed my master’s degree from UTSA in Mental Health counseling in December 2018. My Bachelor’s was in biology and psychology from the University of Texas Pan American in 2014.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (2020). Therapeutic interventions I use include: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT informed skills, trauma informed skills and person centered to strengthen and empower patients.
Patients have shared their appreciation for my supportive, accountability, and understanding that allows for a safe place to explore hard areas of their stories.
I enjoy being a counselor because I have the ability to help patients in their healing journey. I have a special place in my heart for grief counseling due to my internships being focused on grief through my master’s program. This passion allows space for me to work as instrument of God to help instill hope of healing. On a daily basis I hear hard stories from patients’ pain, which drives me to advocate and listen to the needs of my patients.
I am a San Antonio native, alongside my fiancé and family. I am a huge Spurs fan and the oldest of 5 children.
